Airplane Copilot · Privacy Policy

Airplane Copilot has no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics. It collects no personal information, and nothing you say or enter into it is sent to us. We do not operate a server that receives your data.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter or choose is stored only in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad. It is never sent to us. That includes:

  • your checklists, reference notes and any checklist spreadsheet you import;
  • your flights: starting fuel, tank switches, fuel used and fuel flow;
  • your settings, such as tank sizes, warning levels, voice and wake word.

Deleting the app removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else. A spreadsheet you export goes only where you choose to send it.

Microphone and speech

Copilot listens through your headset only while it is awake (Listening or Active), to hear its wake word and your responses. Asleep, the microphone is released completely.

What you say is turned into text by Apple's speech recognition. On devices that support it, this happens on the device; on devices that don't, Apple's speech recognition service does it, under Apple's privacy policy. The app does not record or keep audio, and keeps only the last few words it heard, on screen.

Loosely worded requests and questions are answered by Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence), from your own checklist data. They are not sent to us or to any other service.

Location

During a flight, the app reads your ground speed from your device's GPS to detect takeoff and landing, set the fuel flow and offer checklists. It keeps running in the background for this until you end the flight. Your position is used on the device and is never sent to us. The app keeps no track or history of where you have been; it keeps only a rough position (to about 10 km) on your device, shared with your Apple Watch, for its night display.

You can decline the permission, or withdraw it later in your device's settings; takeoff and landing are then not detected and you set the fuel flow yourself.

Apple Watch, alarms and the Lock Screen

Your flight is shared between your iPhone and your Apple Watch directly, through Apple's watch connection, so both can show it and ring its alarms. Alarms, notifications and the Lock Screen card are created on your device. None of this passes through us.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, card number or billing address. Apple tells the app only whether a valid subscription exists. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

What we do not do

  • No accounts, sign-in or user profiles.
  • No analytics, tracking pixels, advertising or third-party SDKs of any kind.
  • No selling or sharing of data — there is none to sell.
  • No email list. We do not contact you.

Children

Airplane Copilot is a tool for pilots and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
